Rip
Main Post:
So is it a sin for me to say that this show could be better if someone at some point beat the crap out of Rip? (commence down votes)
I know many here love him, but I find this character and the situations he's in to be repetitive.
Basically the whole show is Rip beating someone up, Beth being a bitch. Almost every episode.
Don't you guys think that maybe they could change it up just to make it less predictable?
I don't mind Rip, but honestly the wash and repeat "Tough Guy" thingy is getting a bit old for me.
Top Comment: I don’t disagree...given his backstory there is so much they could do with him, but it’s turned into Rip being a gruff, grumpy bastard 98% of the show. Him and Beth are becoming very one dimensional
Why does Reddit love saying RIP with regard to everything?
Main Post:
It seems like RIP is used for it's actual purpose at times (to send respects to the recently deceased) and then other times RIP is simply used as a knell to someone's comment - similar to "Oh Snap!"
Its use on Reddit has become rampant. Why / how / when did Reddit develop an affinity for using the term 'RIP'?
ANSWER: I am getting old and RIP is prolific because younger generations have taken a liking to it for all purposes both online and off, appropriate in context and sometimes not.
Top Comment: As far as I know, a handful of livestreamers on Twitch have begun using it regularly whenever something unfortunate or unlucky happens. I guess its use just diffused out from there.

Top Comment: RIP was not used as a acronym for rest in peace 50 years ago (correct me if I’m wrong) You’re wrong. The acronym R.I.P. appeared first in 1613 as an abbreviation for requiescat in pace, then in 1681 for rest in peace.
Rip… can we talk about him? + my opinions on some characters thus far

The way Beth and Rip treated Carter was unforgivable. Sheridan had a chance to give them the child they couldn’t have and make them even more beloved in the eyes of the viewer. I absolutely hated the fourth season and this was a main reason why. I personally think Sheridan is a terrible writer but the actors and the scenery keep me coming back for more.
